It’s hard to admit but we’re not going to be young forever! We are growing older, and hangovers are a reminder of that. It seems that the older we get, the more intense they become. Some of us didn’t get them at all until now! The morning after those long nights of celebrating that promotion, engagement, or just plain old adult life, can catch up to you and make the morning after absolutely miserable. Lucky for you this week’s blog post is on how to avoid and cure a hangover. Balls has you covered so you don’t have to worry.
These useful tips will bust you out of your morning-after funk and allow you to be the productive and spiritedly member of society we know you are. Here are three ways to avoid/cure hangovers:
1. Know your limits:
We know it may seem like hangovers are an evil invention created by a mad doctor who hates fun, but the truth is hangovers are a natural bodily reaction to mass alcohol intake. It is a proven fact that the more you drink the more likely that you will get a hangover. There may be many ways to prevent the natural disaster known as a hangover, but the easiest way to do this is quite simple. You must know your limitations and monitor your alcohol intake. The amount of alcohol it takes for someone to get a hangover changes depending on body type, height, and sex — but the general outcome is still the same. The less you drink the more likely you are to not get a hangover.
2. Eat a good breakfast:
This one is a personal favorite because it involves two of our favorite things, food and a good night out. Eating is very important to curing a hangover. Eating a good breakfast prevents low blood sugar which causes many of the symptoms that make hangovers a nightmare such as Nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. Along with getting rid of these terrible symptoms, eating a good breakfast can also help replenish some of the vitamins that your body is missing due to a long night and dehydration. Finally, the most important reason to eat a good breakfast after a night out is because it’s the most important meal of the day, and it’s important to get a good start.
3. Stay hydrated and get lots of sleep:
We know it’s hard to stay hydrated when you’re having a good time, and some times you just can’t plan a good time, it just happens. However, this preventative measure may possibly be the most important and effective way to both avoid and cure a hangover. This one may not be the easiest cure due to circumstances, but it’s the most effective one because of the way alcohol dehydrates the body. Drink water or club soda (seltzer water) throughout the night and the next morning. It will help relive many of the symptoms such as thirst and headaches. Drinking water and sleeping enough are two things we should be doing on the regular to stay healthy and sharp, and it will also hands down make the morning after a breeze. Just make sure you don’t break the seal early in the night.
